Heeerrrrreeee's Charlie!! CDS New Releases Available now!

Saturday, January 31, 2009

Another late post--- but the good news is that you can get the adorable stamps in these cards TODAY!! (I was supposed to post yesterday--but again, my schedule was all messed up with being out of town!) So heeeerrreee's......... Charlie!! Another cute Charlie set-- this one called "Sorry Charlie".

On this first card, I airbrushed the background and wanted to tie in the fun paper from Cloud 9 Design with the colors. The paper has lots of shiny embossing--- very glossy! I used a clear Heidi Swapp heart and punches from Stampin' Up! (I've gotten a TON of use out of that three heart punch in the SU bundle!)

The challenge for this next card was to make our own DP.... something being broken is a VERY familiar scene in our house--- with two toddler boys, there is a never ending array of miscellaneous body parts from various Power Rangers, Ben 10 guys, and other weird boy toys scattered throughout the toy room--- even growing up with two brothers, I've never understood the obsession with these odd little figures!! Oh well-- the boys enjoy them... so I'll continue to step on them and twist my ankle. All part of my motherly duty!

READY, SET, GO--- and jump on over to the CDS Store to fill your shopping card with all of the cute new releases!!

Next post coming momentarily--- I'll be caught up soon!

Warm and cozy!!! Amy R New Release

Okay--- I'm back home to edit--- we took a mini-trip to a hotel last night with my parents (they had free rooms at one of the Riverboat hotels), so we decided to take the kids swimming and then spent the day together for brunch and shopping. "Grandma" even spent a few hours in the hotel room, babysitting, while my husband and I went to the casino and played a little blackjack and roulette! We had a great time and the kids were hilarious staying at the "HEL-TEL" (as Parker pronounces it!)... they let us know they could see THE WHOLE CITY from our room (which was on the 8th floor).

I have a card that I was supposed to post yesterday, but it just didn't get done. This is an Amy R Stamps preview with a new set called "Warm and Cozy" that will be available February 1st at http://www.allthatscraps.com/ --- it's perfect for get well cards and much more... it even includes cute little BUNNY slippers!!

This paper seemed like the perfect touch for it, so I paper pieced the robe and found a great sentiment for a card that I will give my mom in a couple of weeks! (She's have surgery on her foot, so she'll be down for a few weeks!)

The paper is from a 6x6 pack that I found at Michael's--- I'll come back and edit to tell you what it is-- I think it's called Sabrina, but I'm not sure of the company. I bought the matching mini-primas (which are the pink circle things)... and I loved how the nesties tag came out with the sponged pink.

I have another post coming shortly tonight with a Clear Dollar Stamps Charlie set!! (TWO new Charlie sets with this months release!!)

Be Back shortly!!

SUINK New Release Blarney Stone TECC52TV

Thursday, January 29, 2009

There is nothin' better than new stamp sets--- this one had me SUPER excited when I picked up the mail. It's called "BLARNEY STONE" and St. Patricks stamps are hard to come by, so I was thrilled to see the little "Kids" in this set are just the cutest. My Grandma was a McGarry, so needless to say--- there is a LOT of Irish in my family! My daughter has the red hair and all--- so of COURSE I had to make my little dancing Irish gal with red hair!

The layout for this was inspired by Taylor's cupcake challenge sketch... i had to flip it and replace the buttons with the brads-- but that's where it came from.

I found some shamrock brads at my LSS, as well as this Shamrock paper. The cardstock is Core'dinations paper in a vintage cream color (which I aged a little bit with some "Old Paper" distress ink.)

Can you see the little embossed button strip under the image?? I finally used the cuttlebug edge embossing folders--- they are so cute and I loved these buttons. I also aged these with distress ink to make them pop a little bit.

So, So Cute!! Make sure you stop by the other SUINK team members this week, here is the preview schedule:

CDS Sneak Peeks - Birthday Wishes and SOM Moose

I have more Clear Dollar stamps previews for you today--- the sets are the February Stamp of the Month (SOM-Moose) and Birthday Wishes. The SOM is my absolute favorite this month—the moose is just ADORABLE!! With a $50 purchase, he can be all yours for FREE!! Stock up on Spellbinder dies, ribbons, or some of the other fabulous releases this month so you can get him!!

The first card uses Cute Critters and Birthday Wishes--- I thought the little ducks arm was the perfect perch for a cupcake!! I told you, you'd see more of the cute critters this month!

Here is that adorable little moose--- you can have him wear a party hat like in this first card or without in the second card. His little face is just so sweet. I also am still practicing with my copic airbrush-- so I tried that for the background.
Back to the Birthday wishes set--- this time combined with the Zoo Critters that I previewed yesterday. I thought the walrus's (walrus'i)--- what the heck is a plural walrus? (LOL-- Sorry)... anyway, his head made a perfect perch for the candles. He's covered in crystal effects and has stickles on his nose for a little glitz. He's a Hollywood Walrus.

And here is my other moose card. I colored him with reinkers on watercolor paper and the challenge for this card was to use "wood" somewhere on your card. I found this cosmo cricket paper in my piles (which is some of my favorite!) and used that for the challenge.
After I’ve hopefully enabled you, jump right on over to these other gals to see their wonderful creations with these sets as well!

Birthday Wishes previews from: Candy, Laurie, Stacy

Stamp of the Month previews from: Candy, Nancy, Linsey, Alex, Kim, Monique, Laurie
One more post coming today with my SUINK peek as well!! I told you--- Crazy PREVIEW week!!
Thanks for visiting!!!

A WHOLE LOTTA Hearts

Hearts, Hearts EVERYWHERE!! It's Wednesday again and it will be a crazy rest of the week with LOTS and LOTS of peeks!! SUINK has some FUN new sets and some of the design team gals will have peeks for you TODAY!~ My day is tomorrow--- and I just love the unique set that I used for the first one!

My first card today was for the SUINK Whachadoin' Wednesday challenge which is to use ONLY Red, Black and White--- Do you KNOW how hard that is??? (Shhh---I cheated and added a little green/blue shadow on the hearts!) The L-O-V-E hearts are from the "Will you be my Valentine" set and the paper is from Michael's and it's full of Glitter! I layered all sorts of hearts, nesties, my MS heart punch from Kerry (THANKS AGAIN KERRY!) and a white heart brad to top it off! To play along-- use keyword SUINKWWC25 and leave a comment at the SUINK blog!

Stamps: SUINK "Will You Be my Valentine"
Paper: GP White, Michaels Glitter Heart DP, Basic Black
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Hobby Lobby Ribbon, Love charm from Michael's, Silver cord, Heart Nesties, Scallop Heart punch MS, Martha Stewart Lace Heart Edge punch, BG10, R34, R27

While I'm on the heart theme--- here is another new Whipper Snapper image---"A Lotta Hearts"-- How appropriate! :) I thought it was PERFECT with Anna Wight's sentiment i {heart} u from the "Bear Hugs" set! I think I used every pink, red copic in the box--I lost track of all of the colors.
On the topic of Valentine's Day, my sons both insist that they want Ben 10 (Alien Force) Valentine's (For those that don't have young boys--- it's a teenage alien fighter cartoon that my kids are OBSESSED with!) --- so I guess no homemade Valentines for school this year! FOR SHAME--- I know!! :) Oh well-- I guess it will make them super fast and easy! Last year I handstamped 35 of them and tied crayons on each one--- it took me forever, so no stress this year! I'll still make cards for the teachers, but that's easy compared to the whole class!

That's all I have for today-- Stop by the SUINK blog to see the rest of the
fabulous cards for the challenge and bonus sneak peeks!! All That Scraps also has a fun "BRADS GALORE" challenge to see how many brads you can use on a card-- I stopped by Diane Zechman's blog and she had 11!! How many can YOU use???

Clear Dollar Stamps, ATS, and SUINK peeks are coming all week long!! So I hope you stop back!!

Ducks In a Row...

Monday, January 26, 2009

Hi Ya'll~ I'm sitting here watching my guilty pleasure, The Bachelor... SHHHH... Don't tell anyone that I'm addicted!! And I just can't WAIT until next week to see the girl who turned him down year come back on the show! Oh the DRAMA! :) (Hee-Hee!)

I have another fun Whipper Snapper new release to show you-- this time it's "Ducks in A Row". The bright colors in this American Crafts paper were my inspiration.

While the card says "Got all my ducks in a row"... in actuality, not so much! I was at Target on Sunday and had one of those "OH NO" experiences---- You know when you see someone you KNOW you know, but aren't sure how and then they say Hello and chat with you--- well yeah... that happened. If I saw you at Target on Sunday--- email me and tell me how ditzy I am, that way I can figure out where I know you from!! :)

Stamps: Ducks in a Row by Whipper Snapper Designs
Paper: Only Orange, Yo-Yo Yellow, American Crafts DP
Accessories: Copics - Y11, Y15, YR04, YR68, B000; Michael's Ribbon, Sewing Machine, Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities

Catching up...

Sunday, January 25, 2009

Well the craziness of the past two weeks is calming down-- Taylor's challenge is the only one I've done in the past week, so I want to catch up tomorrow! I held my new catalog open house for Stampin' Up today, which was a ton of fun. I have two new downline members starting February 1st and lots of great customers/friends who were there as well. I'm excited for our orders to come in... I finally ordered the fun Scallop Edged Envelope Sizzix die-- YAY! I can't wait to make the cute boxes that I've seen with that! I picked up a few other SU goodies, new texture plates, crocheted flowers, new buttons and the Trendy Trees stamp set. Fun, Fun!

So what do you think of my new background and header??? I was sick of snow, sick of cold, and wanted something warmer and Valentine-y (is that a word?) I hope it's not too bright compared to the brown... let me know if it hurts your eyes! :)

So how 'bout a card??

I have a card I made the other night to share with you using the Sweet Things stamp set from SUINK. I used soft pinks (with my Bittersweet Basic Grey paper), and chocolately browns with that yummy chocolate Kiss stamp. I used some pink heart brads with the polka dot ribbon (I think I should just take the plunge and go buy the entire stock of that stuff at Hobby Lobby!) And I had to throw in another Martha Stewart scallop edge punch for the bottom. I really liked how this turned out and the size is a little smaller than normal (3.5 x 5), which was inspired by the cards Anna Wight was making earlier in the week at that size.

Before I go--- I did want to say Thank You for the award I received this week--- I'm so bad with posting those! My friend Michelle from MommyTime gave me the "Butterfly" award earlier this week.

My talented design team buddy Amber at "So Many Colors, So little Time" also Tagged me--- which I found out she lived in Iowa (I still need to email her to find out where!) --- I don't know if I have many new weird facts about me that I haven't shared--- but the only one that comes to mind is that my first job was as a pizza delivery girl (maybe it's just because I'm hungry for pizza right now!) --- I'm still shocked my parents let me do it, but it was a ton of fun (despite getting horribly lost a few times in the middle of BFE country dirt roads!)

Final thing--- I've had some comments from "anonymous" users lately-- a few asking some questions-- the one that immediately comes to mind is a gal who was going to Davenport and wondered if I was close (I'm about an hour away), but I didn't have a way to email her back-- so MMO if you are out there, leave me a comment with your email address!

Oh and Sorry I put the word verification back on my comments as well--- I had some massive spam comments coming in, so I added it back on!)

Have a GREAT Sunday!

Review Preview Friday ATS

It's Review Preview Friday at ATS--- I'll have to come back and add details later, but I wanted to share these two cards I made with Hugs and Kisses and Hey Cupid! (The bunny card was the first time I used my copic airbrush.... I'm still figuring it out, but getting better!)

I thought these were both fun cards and the sentiment in the "Hey Cupid" cards is from Amy R's Love Sentiments.

SUINKWWC24 and SC212 Sweet Cupcake

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

It's Whachadoin' Wednesday and this week, the challenge was to use the inspiration photo above to make your card. I loved the color combo in the room!!
I pulled out my Basic Grey Urban Prairie paper and found some great pink Core'dinations paper to accent the color in the cupcake.

Rather than having the little girl from "Will you be my Valentine" holding a heart, I gave her a GIANT cupcake from the "Sweet Things" set--- and paper pieced her dress with matching paper. I used a Candy Dot on top of the cupcake for a cute little accent.

We'd love to have you play along--- leave a link on the SUINK blog and if you upload to a gallery, use keyword SUINKWWC24.
Supplies
Stamps: Will You be My Valentine and Sweet Things from SUINK
Paper: Urban Prairie DP, GP White, Candy Dot, Michael's Ribbon, Swiss Dots folder, Oval SU Punches, Martha Stewart Lace Punch, Copics- E00, R20, Y000, Y21, BG72, BG10, R81, R85

GIGGLE BUG--- Challenge Wednesday (ATS and SUINK!)

HA! I love, love, love this bug!! If you stopped by Anna Wight's blog last week, you probably saw her "Ick a Bug" card (ADORABLE!) This is one of her new single images at Whipper Snapper that will be released later this week. The sentiment is from the "Sweet Expressions" set of Anna's and it fit just perfectly for how I felt when I was making this card!

There are two challenges going on today that I wanted to let you know about...

1. SUINK has an "Inspiration" challenge using a cute pastel room (SUINKWWC24)-- soft sherbet-like colors. I don't have a card done (yet), but the gals who were assigned this week made some FABULOUS cards. Stop by the SUINK BLOG to check them out!! I love the soft colors with those cute Valentine sets!

2. ATS has a "FAUX STITCHING" Challenge today---- I have some faux stitching on my card up above, but I didn't have one made with ATS stamps for today. I love stitching, faux or real! It's my favorite accent on cards--- so I'd love to see what you do! Play along with keyword ATSDTC33! So far, I see cards posted from LESA, and DAWN. Click on their names to see their fabulous creations with faux stitching!!! I'm sure some will also be on the ATS blog later as well!

Thanks for dropping by and have a great Wednesday!

Snow Friends Review

Tuesday, January 20, 2009

I'm late posting this, but wanted to make sure I posted a card I made for review preview today at ATS. The stamp set review today is from Diane's "Cookie Crumbs" line with all of the adorable snowmen and snow sentiments. I made a card with the snowman who has a nice little friend who's giving him his nose back. The papers in this are from the Stampin' Up Holiday catalog and I loved the mix of colors!!

Make sure you stop by the ATS blog to check out all of the other cards-- It's incredible how many different looks can come from the same set!

Supplies
Stamps- Cookie Crumb's "Snow Friends" from ATS
Paper- Stampin' Up Holiday paper, Old Olive, Baja Breeze, Whisper White
Accessories- Various Punches, Scallop Square Nestabilities, Michael's Ribbon, Bag o' Buttons, Snowflake embossing folder, white gel pen, copic markers

Thanks for stopping by!

Beary Purple...

Monday, January 19, 2009

I'm on a Whipper Snapper streak-- so why not let it continue! This is another upcoming stamp image that I paper pieced to make him POP! I love the little wings and heart! I used the "Small Heart" edge punch from Martha Stewart on Pale Plum and Chocolate Chip paper--- which I embossed using the swiss dots folder. Same thing with the layers of circle nesties behind the bear... lots of dots!

The paper is from MME and it's a color scheme I don't use very often, but I was really happy with how it turned out for this card!

Sentiment: Bear Hugs- Anna Wight Cling set
Paper: MME DP, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip.
Supplies: Swiss Dots CB Folder, Sewing, Paris Dew Drops, White Grosgrain ribbon, Martha Stewart Small Heart Edge punch, copics

Sugar N Spice and Red Hair is nice...

Sunday, January 18, 2009

How bout' another cutie pie Whipper Snapper stamp!?! I can't wait for these to be available! So, So Cute!! This little cutie is in a new cling mount set from Shelly Comiskey. I couldn't resist making her with red hair!!

This was one of those cards that you just smile the whole time you are making it--- fun, bright colors (with a DP from Quick Quotes called Good Times). The sentiment and flower stamp is from one of Anna's new releases this past month called "Love at Home".

I hope you like it!! Have a great day and I'll be back with more tomorrow! (I've been crazy busy working on cards for both my open house and design team deadlines-- so I have a stock pile here that I've finished!)

Stamps: Whipper Snapper Designs - Cling Mount "Sugar N Spice", Anna

OH NUTS!!

Friday, January 16, 2009

How about a peek at an upcoming image from Whipper Snapper to warm you up on a Friday!?! I'm just NUTS about this one!! (hee-hee)

I asked Lisa when I could post some of these CUTE new stamps and she said I could go for it, just make sure to let you know that they aren't available quite yet--- but with luck (and some server assistance), they will be available next week!

Isn't this little squirrel and his pile of nuts ADORABLE... hmmmm... let me rethink how to phrase that, it sounds a little wrong! LOL.. Anyway--- I just HAD to share some of the cutie patootie new stuff for your "enabling" pleasure! (Glad I can help!)

Amy R Friday Review and I started Christmas shopping... for next year!

Before I tell you about my card, I have to share my excitement--- I went to Target tonight after a doctor's appointment (in which I AGAIN have a sinus infection (I can self diagnose those things with as many as I get!)... but we ended up running through the clearance aisle in the toys and they had some CRAZY sales! I picked up SEVERAL birthday/next year Christmas gifts (Woo-Hoo--- Can we say EARLY START!) and my biggest excitement was finding the "Rose Petal Cottage" playhouse for my daughter! I was so excited that it was 50% off! I think that I may play with it more than her, but it's this little fabric playhouse that's around 4 ft. tall that has a washing machine and little windows with curtains, etc. So, so cute!! I think I convinced myself I need the accessories to match, so I may go get those tomorrow. (Having a girl is SO much fun!)

Okay-- Back to the regular scheduled programming...

It's Review Preview Friday at All That Scraps--- and today's review is on Amy R's Wedding and Love Sentiments sets.

I hadn't stamped the tuxedo or dress image yet--- so I went to work on a new card. Michael's had this new Poppy paper that I thought would make a fun "non-traditional" wedding dress--- so I used that DP for both the background and the dress.

I colored the tuxedo in with different shades of gray copics and used the swiss dots cuttlebug folder on the long wavy rectangle nestabilities.

This set makes such elegant cards--- and I always forget how easy a card is to make if you stamp on DP and paper piece the image!

The little inset picture here is of the card I made earlier this month with the same set. (You can click on it to see it close up!)

Stop by the ATS blog later today to see more with Amy R's sets--- I'm sure the design team made some incredible new stuff!!

No school AGAIN tomorrow for my kids -- we hit new record lows in Iowa the past two days--- it registered as 29 below zero (and over 50 below zero with windchill) yesterday!! YIKES-- That's COLD!!

Stay warm and Have a great Friday!

SUINKWWC23 Valentine Treat

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

It's that time of the week again! Whachadoin' Wednesday at Storage Units, Ink and More!! You're challenge this week --should you choose to accept it-- is to make a Valentine Treat holder. It will be here before you know it!

I used some more of that FANTASTIC Core'dinations Chocolate Box paper--- I think I'm going to need another package of that stuff, I'm lovin' it!! I sanded the hearts after I ran them through the Cuttlebug and the pink is peeking through to match the Basic Grey Bittersweet patterned paper that I used. I think I'm making progress with my airbrush too!! I figured out how to make the air pressure work correctly!! Geesh-- That helped TREMENDOUSLY! Still need some work, but hey-- it's like my sewing--- hopefully I'll get a little better with every card!
Can you see the little "LOVE" heart on the top?!?--- I tied it on with silver SU cord over the ribbon. I found these little hearts in the bridal section at Michael's... the are called Modern Romance Charms and they came in a package of 20 for less than $4! I love snooping through the wedding section for little finds like that!

Remember, you do not have to use SUInk stamps but if you have em', we'd love to see em! After you create your item post it online using the keywords SUINKWWC23 and then come on back to the SUINK blog and leave us a comment with the link so we can all see it too!
Supplies - Stamps: Be My Valentine; Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento;
Paper: Basic Grey Bittersweet, Coredinations Chocolate Box, Whisper White;
Accessories: American Crafts Ribbon, Love Charms, Prima, Heart "Art Accentz"
brad, Copic Markers - E57, R81, R85, E00, E11, R20; Copic Airbrush

Blog-a-versary ALERT (not mine)

So it's not mine--- but I'll be sure to celebrate when it is!! One of my blog buddies (who I've been a follower of for a while!!) has some FABULOUS, YUMMY, AMAZING blog candy to give away!! And she'll be picking THREE winners. Stop by Kerry Donovan-Casey's blog "Three Clovers Designs".... and follow the rules to sign up!! Here is the link to her blog candy post: http://threecloversdesigns.blogspot.com/2009/01/blogoversary-blog-yummies.html

CONGRATULATIONS KERRY!! You are always so sweet with your comments and have AMAZING eye candy for all of your readers each week!!

BTW-- Don't forget to scroll down to see the fun ATS challenge today!! I posted it earlier this morning!

ATS Challenge - Double Pocket Bag

Jen is hosting a FUN challenge at All That Scraps today--- A Double Pocket Bag perfect for little treats-- Hot cocoa packs, Gift Cards, and lots more will fit in these cute little holders!! And all it takes is a 12x12 piece of designer paper and any embellishment pieces.

There was a tutorial posted on SCS for these quite a while ago by Jenn Diercks that you can find HERE. Try one out and post it to the ATS or SCS gallery with keyword: ATSDTC32.

I used some YUMMY Cosmo Cricket paper for the bag--- and the little bear from Hugs and Kisses was perfect with his heart boxers. Awww... isn't he cute??? I put some sparkly stickles on the wings for a little "bling".

I'm LUVIN' my new Martha Stewart Valentine Lace punch and Kiss Me punch (the kiss me was perfect for layering on the 2nd size of scallop heart in the Nestabilities set!) Now--- If someone can find the scallop heart that matches the edge punch--- LET ME KNOW!! You'll be my new best friend! :) (I just can't justify the $20+ on Ebay--- YIKES!)

UPDATE: My blog friends are the BESTEST!!! I have a punch on the way and lots of offers to help me with my punch "quest" (aka: addiction).

Check out the ATS blog to see samples from the rest of the team and I'll have another post later today for Whachadoin' Wednesday at SUINK-- just need to finish up my treat holder sometime this morning!!

Supplies
Stamps: C.C. Designs - Hugs and Kisses (All That Scraps)
