BLOG CANDY!!

Monday, September 28, 2009

I posted about this earlier today, but decided that if I'm asking you to go do something for me, I should do something in return. So how about some BLOG CANDY!!!!

Blog candy includes:
1. Spellbinders Small Scallop Nestabilities
2. Sweet Petites fancy primas from Petaloo
3. Raspberry Lemonade Basic Grey 6x6
4. Rachelle Anne Miller - Cuddles stamp (with her holding a cute little puppy!!)

So what do you need to do to WIN this blog candy??? Well here's the scoop....

I had a blog reader who emailed me to ask if I would post something about her monthly contest to win free UGG boots at her online store: WHOOGA BOOTS... and if at least 40 entries come from my blog, then I can get boots for myself too!! And let me tell ya, I've been DYIN' for a pair of Uggs. Since I now stay home and do daycare, I've changed my spending habits BIG time, so goin' out and just buyin' a pair, well that just isn't happenin' right now! :) SOOO--- I'm hoping my wonderful blog readers will help me out and for doing it, you can get a chance to not only win free UGGS, but also my fun blog candy!! :)

So here are the three things you need to do:
1. Leave a comment on this blog candy post.
2. Go to the link for the WHOOGA BOOTS CONTEST.
3. Follow the directions on the website and make a valid entry into her contest.

I'll be drawing for a winner for my blog candy on FRIDAY - October 2nd, so thanks for helping me out!!

Have a great day and I'll be back with some new October previews starting tomorrow afternoon!

Bippity Boppity Boo and a chance for FREE UGGS!

Hey stamp fans!! I officially have floors again in my stamp room! My cabinets don't come in for a couple of weeks, but I'm setting my old tables back up today. I'll be finishing my previews the rest of this week and will have FUN stuff coming up all week long with previews from ATS and a few more as I end my term as a gardener with The Greeting Farm! I had such a blast playing with the farmers and my fellow gardeners!! It was a crazy few months with our flooded basement and me leaving my old job to stay home, so I very much appreciated all of the support and understanding from the team.

I will be back with tons of cards this week, but I had a blog reader email me and ask that I tell you about a fun contest where you can win a free pair of UGG boots. I love UGGS and have been wanting to get a pair forever. The name of the site is just so much fun that I told her sure, I'd tell you all about it. To enter the contest, just click the picture or click here: WHOOGA UGG BOOTS and enter your info and post a badge to your site. If at least 40 people go there from my site, then I get something too! There is a free pair given every month and who wouldn't want to win FREE UGGS!!

Before I go--- Here's a super cute Halloween stamp from WHIPPER SNAPPER called Halloween Grocery List (sentiment is from the cling set Spooky Expressions.) I loved all of the potion bottles and little spider on top of the book!!!
Have a great night!!

Farm Fresh Friday - 80's Anya and Wedding pics

Thursday, September 24, 2009

Hello all!! It's been a week since my last post- YIKES!! I've been busy and exhausted since we got back from Vegas. Man, I must be getting old... I can't hang into the wee hours of the morning anymore... at least not without paying for it the next day!! 1/2 the pictures we took I looked exhausted!!

Before I show you a few from the wedding, it's Farm Fresh Friday (thank goodness I had a target to shoot for to post or I probably wouldn't have gotten anything done for another week!) The challenge this week is a sketch challenge from Cindy... perfect for this limited edition 80's Anya!! I like, TOTALLY, wanted a sentiment with a fun 80's saying, but this was as close as I could get! :) Like TOTALLY!!

As a girl of the 80's, (I think I had Anya's hair), so I HAD to go with some fluorescent colors. I used Raspberry Fizz from PTI mixed with Green Galore, Pacific Blue, and Yo-Yo Yellow. Love her! :)

So now that I have that done, here are some fun pictures from our trip---- The first is Jeremy and I with a Michael Jackson memorial mannequin. It was kind of freaky up close!

After the wedding, we went to the Venetian Hotel and took pictures in front of the waterfall.
Here, me and my main squeeze are in the limo after the wedding---we went out to the Las Vegas sign and took some fun pictures out there. We were both were extremely tired from staying up WAY to late the night before, but we had a great time! And how can you SLEEP when you are in Vegas!! We only made it to one show (the Criss Angel Cirque de'Soleil) but we will definitely go back alone sometime and go to some other shows.

This is me with my new sister-in-law, Amber. Now the kids can OFFICIALLY call her Aunt Amber!

And finally, here are Jeremy and I with the new couple!!! Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Wild!

That's all the pics (that I'll share anyway! What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, right!?!) :)
Thanks for stopping by-- I'll be working on my craft room this weekend a bit, the new floors are being put in on Saturday, so YIPPEE!! I NEED my space back!! I'll be back if I have time after fixing things back up like new! :)

I only have a minute-- But don't forget it's Farm Fresh Friday at The Greeting Farm and today's challenge is to EMBOSS. Anyway you know how!! I did some simple embossing with a cuttlebug folder, as well as embossed my nesties!

Have a great weekend!

Better late than Never... ATS Vellum Challenge

Thursday, September 17, 2009

Hi all! I was wanting to get this done on Tuesday night for the ATS challenge on Wednesday, but it just didn't happen! The challenge this week was to use vellum and as much as I absolutely "NEEDED" that product when I first starting crafting, I hardly ever use it on cards, so I was stumped on how to add it! I went with a pretty basic concept of putting a darker color behind it and then embossing with a cuttlebug folder for some fun texture. I love this pumpkin cuttlebug folder, especially with Christine's adorable Sugarplum Cow Emma.

I try not to use adhesive with vellum (I hate when it bleeds through and I've never bought the actual Vellum Adhesive).... so I attached it with some copper brads for a pop of metallic on the card.

The fence border is the Martha Stewart Crooked Fence border from last year... I just love that to make a super easy little scenery for my figures to stand in front of.

I'm still finishing packing up today-- hopefully the kids all cooperate!! We leave pretty late tonight, so with luck, I'll get everything done that I need to.

Have a great weekend and I'll have a couple of posts pre-posted for the weekend for Farm Fresh Friday at TGF and Review Friday at All That Scraps! So even though I'll be away, I'll still get to play! :)

Hello Savannah...

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

Hello on a lovely Tuesday! I did some stamping tonight (imagine that!) and made a fun polka-dotty card using a SCS sketch challenge.

Savannah is a new stamp from The Greeting Farm, which is now available. She's super fancy giving a curtsy in her little dress. I had these polka dot papers sitting on my table from the Basic Grey Junebug pack and thought they suited her just perfectly. I used lots of little white dot accents for a pop and sponged with Summer Sun ink first and then went back in on the corners with Real Red ink. (It's the colors of the college I went too, so I'm always a fan of red and "gold".

I have a couple more days before we fly out for our trip to Vegas, so lots of packing and planning needs to happen since I really haven't thought about either one yet!! (Other than the fact that I wanted to make sure I knew where my Twilight books were so that I had something to read! (We all have our priorities!)

I will probably be back at nap time tomorrow with a card I started tonight for the ATS challenge this week... but you'll have to check out the blog to find out what the challenge is!!

Have a great night!

Glamour Girl and My Guy Ian...

Sunday, September 13, 2009

Hi everyone! Before I show you the card I made today, I had to share this picture of my "Glamour Girl" who turns two this week!! (Note to self: A quiet daughter = a BIG time mess!!) She was being so quiet Saturday morning and when I went to check on what she was up to, I found my make-up bag spread across the floor and a VERY messy daughter. I think she may have gone a little dark on the mascara!
Okay-- On to my card!! I haven't participated in an SCS challenge in FOREVER, so I had fun jumping in on the FS challenge for Shannon Tuebner today! I cased her card found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...p;ppuser=95116.

This stamp is a brand spankin' new stamp called "My Guy Ian", which premiered on Club Anya earlier this weekend and the whole set becomes available on September 15th at The Greeting Farm.

There are a ton of awesome guy sayings and two hot little Ian images in the set. If you have boys, you'll love this set! (The sentiment actually was part of a "Hey Dude" stamp, but I cut it apart so I could use it for the Thanks sentiment as well!)

That's all I have for tonight--- I'll be doing some power cleaning and packing for our big Las Vegas trip later this week. My brother-in-law is getting married, so Jeremy and I will be leaving the kids with my parents and taking off for the bright lights of Vegas! It's my first trip... so if you have any suggestions of MUST DO things, let me know!!

Thanks for stopping by!

An apple for teacher...

Saturday, September 12, 2009

Good morning/evening--- depending on how you look at it. I am sitting here in my living room and watched a mouse scurry across my floor a little while ago... therefore, I can't sleep and I've laid out 10 mouse traps until the disgusting thing is caught!! Ugh!! I HATE mice!! Maybe I need some farm cats--- we used to have one that would not only bring us little gifts of mice, but she would catch birds mid-air, and once brought us a small possum!! Now THAT's the kind of little hunter I need!

Okay-- I'll get off my mouse kick and show you what I worked on during nap time today for the kids. This card was created with the Fall Sugarplum Kit from C.C. Designs at All That Scraps.

The paper is some cute stuff I found at Archiver's from Creative Imaginations and I used the Dahlia dies for the little accent apple. The red border was cut down from the next largest size of flower (I thought it was too thick of an edge until I trimmed it back.)

I used crochet thread for Emma's hair (an adorable idea I picked up from Lesa Rapp) and then I added some white highlights with my signo pen.

Here are the copics I used... I keep promising myself I'm going to try to take a picture when I'm making my cards, I know I always like that on blogs that I visit. I hope you have a great weekend and if things are relaxing around here, I may be back in the next day or two with more fun stuff! :)

New Stuff!! Farm Fresh Friday

Friday, September 11, 2009

Hello! It's Farm Fresh Friday at The Greeting Farm which means a new challenge and today, we got a bonus... NEW images as well!! TGF has a few new artists coming and today we get to preview new Teen Digi-Stamps by Janet McDonnell. There aren't a ton of images out there for teens, so I think TGF fans will really like them.

The challenge today is a sketch challenge, shown here:

My card here is using the AMY PAINTS image. These and the other images will be available on September 15th... so VERY soon!!

I always like the combo of red and blue, so when I saw the polka dot paper in my stash, I went with it. The sentiment is from the TGF Butterfly Wishes set and I kept with the polka dot theme with some ribbon from American Crafts and a dotted Cuttlebug Embossing Folder.

You can check out more samples with these new images at the TGF SPLENDID STAMPING blog.

Ollie and Griselda

Thursday, September 10, 2009

Hello! I meant to post this the night of the ATS release party--- but we ended up leaving the house to do more basement shopping. We're making some progress and have installation of carpet in one room next week and the other room should be shortly after that.

My craft room floors are also on order, but those will be installed by my husband and Dad, so hopefully I can "push" them along to get those completed shortly after the wood comes in. (I may need to bribe with food to get that one accomplished though!) I can't wait to get my cabinets put in there as well. Those should be here by early October and they are GORGEOUS!! I ended up getting some beautiful Maple cabinets in Honey Spice with a Mocha Glaze accent. I'll share pictures once everything is redone!

So onto some stamping---- This cute little Owl, "Ollie" comes in Diane's new set "Ollie and Griselda" from All That Scraps. I was attempting a "Starry Nights" background by using B00 and then touching it to a darker blue color and then swirling.... Lots of distressed edges were added to make it "spookier" (although I think Ollie is pretty cute!)

The paper is from the DCWV Rockstar pack and I used a whole bunch of Spellbinders on here, the "Tags Trio", Large Rectangles, Large Deckled rectangles, and Doodle Parts.
I'm off to do some creating.... Have a great day and I'll be back tomorrow with something from the Farm! :)

Autumn Kit ATS Blog Hop

Sunday, September 6, 2009

Hi Everyone!! First, let me apologize for not having this post up this morning! We were traveling back from a wedding in Michigan today (a five hour drive) and we ended up detouring through Chicago on our way home for a quick shopping trip on Michigan Avenue and lunch at Giordano's Pizza (YU-UMMM by the way!). We went to a beautiful wedding and reception on Saturday which was right on Lake Michigan. The view at the home where the reception was held was just breathtakingly beautiful. It was a wonderful and relaxing weekend (my parents kept our kids), but our late day made me EXTREMELY late with getting to a computer to be able to post!!

Anyway--- As you all probably saw, the rest of the team held a fun blog hop today featuring the Sugarplums Autumn Kit.

CC Designs Autumn Sugarplums BLOG HOP!

There were a total of 15 stamps released in the Autumn Kit, and now is your chance to see them all. There are 5 Emmas, 3 Trevors, 6 Accessories, and 1 sentiments set.

Emma's and Trevors range from $5.50-$7.00
Accessories range from $2.00-$5.00
Sentiments Set $8.00

Don't forget to comment on everyone's posts! ONE random comment from one of the blog hop posts will be chosen to win the ENTIRE Autumn Sugarplums stamp collection!! So make sure to leave a comment on each post to increase your chances of winning!

I went with colors as bright as could be for my clown card...and he really isn't sad, it's just the handle on his pumpkin candy bucket. As I look at him though, maybe with his candy bucket empty, he IS sad! Poor guy... he needs some candy! I used the sentiments set from the kit, as well as Clown Trevor.

And since I was so late with my post... Here's a new card with the Kiki stamp set which was released mid month... I hadn't posted it yet, so I figured I owed everyone an extra card since I was a big loser!! :)

I'm going to go jump around and see all of the fun that I missed today... so thanks for stopping!

POST 2 today - Farm Fresh Friday - Gingerbell

Friday, September 4, 2009

Hello again!! Today's TGF challenge is to show off your inside.... I always love it when people decorate the inside of their cards and I try to do it myself occasionally, but not as often as I'd like. A piece of patterned paper and a few accents make such a HUGE difference in completing the card.

So here is what I came up with.... Meet Gingerbell....

FRONT OF CARD:

There are three adorable images of Gingerbell in this set and several "Cat-chy" sayings... bwahahaha.... I found this paper from MME in a stack of patterns that I had (since I'm cleaning things out I've found some "new" old stuff that I could use and I thought it looked like little balls of yarn, perfect for Gingerbell. She looked so sweet curled up on the "rug", which I made with the Martha Stewart Loops edge punch, but I thought the tiny bow in her hair was just the cutest thing ever.

When you open up the card, you can see that she woke up and wanted to check out what that little mouse was up to! Now that I'm looking at it, I'm wishing I would have added a little bow on the inside as well... oh well, I will go back and add it later! :)

Inside of card:
I almost hesitated to use this little mouse stamp....I'm so aggravated by the little pests who are continuously invading my pantry that I could scream. I've caught two in the last two weeks and there is at least one more who is searching for more of my food to ruin!! I think I should take stock in those Snapware Containers!! I've got everything possible snapped into secure tubs! We live surrounded by corn fields, so there are a billion of the disgusting things running around... and with two little boys who LOVE to leave doors and windows open, there is no question on how they could get in!! I decided that on paper, little mice are okay... in my personal space... not so much! ;)

Have a wonderful Friday and check back for more later this weekend!

POST 1 of 2 today: More ATS Sneak Peeks... Halloween Candy and GIFT IT

So how about a catch-up TWO-FER post!?!? You won't mind double the sneak peeks, right!?!

First, is the set that is sneak peeking today on the All That Scraps site called HALLOWEEN CANDY. This is Diem's latest adorable set and it has the cutest puppy and kitty dressed and ready to go trick-or-treating in it. I had this skull and crossbones paper from DCWV's Rockstar stack and thought it was just what my "scary" puppy needed to go with his skeleton outfit.

So then I went digging through a bunch of charms and found a matching pumpkin charm to tie in with his Halloween bucket. How stinkin' cute is that!! I love matchy-matchy! :)

The sentiment is from the upcoming full reveal of the Sugarplum Fall kit which many of you have seen sneaks of, but you may not have seen the FULL pile of fun that comes with the kit. You won't believe it!
Thursday's peek was of the new set Gift it - Halloween style... which has solid stamping images and lots of sentiments. Now just pretend that in this set you see a baggie full of those brown/orange pumpkin candies in the bucket! I tried to find some at Target today, but the only candy they had out so far were Halloween M&M's... which wasn't what I wanted. I think I actually "HMPH'ed" when I didn't see them. Well just "imagine" how cute they would be in there instead! :)
The treat holder is a pretty simple pattern that I will need to find the tutorial for... I had it saved on my old PC, but since I don't have my new one set up and everything transferred yet, I'm not sure where it is. I'll find it, but it's around 3 1/4" square and it holds a treat inside an open window. I'm pretty sure I found it on SCS.
Make sure you stop by the ATS BLOG to sign up for your chance to win these two sets--- just leave a comment on each of the sneak peek posts and check out the other examples!
I'll have another post coming later with the Farm Fresh Friday challenge at TGF. Be sure to stop back and check it out!

Witching You...

Wednesday, September 2, 2009

HAPPY HALLOWEEN... Okay, well not quite yet, but in PLENTY of time to make all sorts of spooky delights. The set previewing today for ATS is the SPOOKY SENTIMENTS set from Amy R... there are all sorts of spooky (and sweet) sayings for Halloween. I can't get enough of Amy R's sentiments sets... they are always my go to sets to add that last detail on my cards.

The little witch in this card is from the fabulous Sugarplum Fall Kit.... I was amazed at all of the adorable stamps and sentiments in that kit!! It will be available again with this months releases!! Stay tuned for more details!

I used a fun stitch for this card, I thought it looked Halloween-y... so you probably will see that used a lot this next month!

Go check out the ATS BLOG to see more wonderful samples with Amy's SPOOKY SENTIMENTS. And don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win Amy's set!!
