Clear Dollar Stamps - Loving Lamb Peek!

Tuesday, June 29, 2010

Hello!!  Well I hope you are having as much fun this summer as we are.  We've spent a ton of time outside and for the first time in years, I actually have a tan in JUNE!! :)  Big bonus of being home for the first summer in 14 years.  The only downside is that all of the outside time has left me little to NO inside STAMP time!! I'm going to have to get back into my middle of the night stamping to get a stamp fix!

Clear Dollar Stamps kicked off July previews yesterday.... make sure you stop by the Clearly I Stamp blog to see links to everyone!  I have a set today with a sneak peek called "Loving Lamb".  "Ewe" will think it's adorable... trust me! :)

Oh Baby! - SFYTT

Saturday, June 19, 2010

YAY - Weekend!! :)  We actually had a sunny day today and no storms, with all of the recent rain, I'm a nervous wreck about our basement based on the past two years water issues.  My husband says that if we come home to a flooded basement, he's locking the door and driving away!  Let's hope that doesn't happen... my craft room is the room where the sump pit is located!
I needed some more sketch inspiration today to get this card finished.   I had colored the image (which is from an older set at All That Scraps called Gingersnaps - OH BABY!) and then I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it.  I wanted to highlight the new sentiment from Amy R's June set called BABY SENTIMENTS as well, so you'll see the inside of the card below.  *The "Heaven sent" on front and full sentiment inside are both from this set.*  BTW - The "OH BABY" set is on sale right now for 25% off, so don't miss it before it's gone!

To get my mojo started, I used Jen's SFYTT sketch and worked on it from there.  The paper is all from Basic Grey "Green at Heart", which has these fun pinks, oranges, and purples.

This is a 5x5 card and I actually used a Spellbinders Labels Ten die to cut the curved pink piece at the bottom to make sure it was exactly even for the rounded edge.

This sentiment is one of my favorites in the set--- All words that couldn't be truer!! This set is enormous and comes with tons and tons of perfect sayings for inside and outside your card.  I was excited that it wasn't just for new babies, but for showers, pregnancy announcements, and more.  Definitely a bargain for $14!

Well I am heading to bed, but I hope you have a great Father's Day Sunday.... we don't have anything planned or set in stone, but I'm sure we will figure out something to do and I'll try to minimize the kids annoying "Daddy" tomorrow!

Thanks for dropping by!

Honey -Summer Challenge card

Thursday, June 17, 2010

Hello again!  I was so excited yesterday, I actually finished a SCS challenge-- 2 of them in fact.  I used Christine's new Honey, "Summer", to play along with this weeks color and sketch challenge.  This and the sentiment from Amy R's Summer sentiments are available at All That Scraps

I just love those Spellbinders fish and they worked great with the sketch for an accent!
Amy R's "Happy Summer" sentiment JUST fit onto the small fish, so I was excited! :)

The colors I used are Real Red, Mellow Moss, and Barely Banana.

Off to go get dishes done, but I had to show you that I really completed a challenge card this week!! SHOCKER!! :)

Fathom Calmsea

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

Hello!  Geesh-- Summer isn't much of a "break" for mom's!! Between summer camps, summer activities, weekend trips, garage sales, etc.... I've hardly had time to stamp!!

I've been adjusting to my new summer daycare kids (including my own, I'm completely full every day).  With the older group of school age kids, it's been interesting coming up with ways to keep them busy, which was leaving me with no time to do anything but the basic upkeep.... school kids are so used to being "fed" with what to do next at school, that when they get a little free-time, they don't know how to be creative and come up with things on their own.  I stocked up on crafts and worksheets, as well as picked up some games and new toys to keep them all busy.  Our daily "routine" is just finally starting to level out this week.... THANK GOODNESS!! :)   As a former late night stamper, I've been too exhausted to move from a chair by the time my day is over.  I need to attach a podometer someday and see how many miles I walk... I swear it feels like I don't stop moving ALL day long!

Enough groaning.... I'm still VERY lucky and thankful to be home with my kids every day.  It's a blessing being able to spend so much time with them.... (I remind myself of that in those moments when I'm taking those DEEP breaths and counting to 10!) HA!

So with all of that said... I DID SOME STAMPING!! How 'bout that!?   Amy Young's new Mermaid's had some fabulous comments on the sneak peeks at the blog... so I went to work and created a card with FATHOM CALMSEA and her little friend Lio (the seahorse).  Amy's amazingly talented and there were several of her new designs that I just adored!!
I typicall cut a white border on my images to give that "applique" look on the card, but I went with a really close cut on this card... not sure if I like it as much, but I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the image at first. I used copic opaque white for accents on the stars, cheeks, and tail.  The colors are Pumpkin Pie and all of the rest was colored and/or airbrushed with various copic markers.  BG18 is the background for Fathom Calmsea (very oceany!)

Well hopefully I can get some blog hoppin' time in...  I actually started a couple of challenge cards tonight which I'll finish tomorrow... so I'm on a roll gals! :)  Thanks for dropping by!

ATS Release Tomorrow!!

Sunday, June 6, 2010

Hello everyone!! I'm on my way out of the house for a family dinner for my Mom's Birthday, but I wanted to send out a reminder that all of the new ATS stamps will be available tomorrow!

I used Penelope and Shelly from Sweet November Stamps and Amy R's Summer Sentiments for this card.  Amy's sentiments will be perfect for all of those fish, swimming, and beach/pool images that you have and there are also some generic sayings for any time of the year.
I've had these TPC Studios brads (they are actually adhesive vs. tabs) but they are just adorable with all of the undersea/ water images.

I will post a card tomorrow with Fathom Calmsea and Lio the Seahorse.... so stop back and don't forget to check out the ATS blog for peeks of all of the sets releasing.  I've been tied up and didn't get all my samples made in time, but I will have cards featuring the new sets all this week.  (I LU-UVE the newest Sugarplum set!!)

Have a great night... I'm off to go eat some Blooming Onions and steak! :)

A little Claudia and Company review B4 Previews!

Hello all!! I hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend.  We had lots of time at home playing outside, doing yardwork, and getting my flower beds and garden all in order.  I love my little garden and I have tons of stuff crammed into my little 4' x 8' raised bed.  I added some squash and fresh herbs to the mix this year, so my husband will be happy that I won't send him to the grocery store to hunt down fresh basil for me.  (He never knows what any of the fresh herbs look like, so I have a jam packed spice cupboard with multiples of all of these dried herbs.  The fresh just taste so much... well, fresher!! :)  So anyway, it's all planted and growing nicely again (this was attempt #2 due to an unexpected frost last month!)

All That Scraps has previews that started yesterday with some new Amy Young Sweet November Mermaid stamps.  I just got mine cut up, so I will post a card with those later and then later today, I will show you a peek of one of the new HONEY'S from Christine.  (SUPER cute!!!)  Before I posted those sneak peeks, I wanted to show you a couple of cards that I made with the adorable ELLA and TEA SET stamps from Claudia and Company.  The new Claudia & Company team started this month as my groups term ended.  I'm so excited to see what else is to come from the amazingly talented Lori Boyd and all of Claudia's designers!

First, here is Ella and her sweet doll (both colored as fiery red heads--- not that I'm biased with my own little red head!)   I'm a Puddlejumper fan forever, I just love all of the detail you can get into these cute little kiddos!
I also had a card where I used the cup of tea from the TEA SET, which paired perfectly with one of the newer Sizzix embossing folders that I had recently picked up.  I stuck with browns and reds for this card and used the same stamp image in chocolate chip for the background.... I'm going to miss Creamy Caramel when SU retires it this month... definitely going to need to load up my paper supply!!

So that's it for right this second and stay tuned for a peek at the newest HONEY from ATS later today!!
