Here's a peek at the new dies!!

Pirate Birthday Matey!!

Sunday, April 15, 2012

Well my nephew has a big #5 birthday coming up and it's all Pirate themed!  Argghhh Matey!! I pulled out an oldy but a goody set from Taylored Expressions called Trick or Sweet (which is actually a Halloween Set, but I use it for lots of other cute cards!)   I used the Pirate Cuppie and made a fun Pirate themed card.  There actually isn't any patterned paper on here either... which is VERY odd for me!!

Oh and yes, that is a Martha Steward Goo Drippy border along the top--- Remember when that thing was going for like $50-$75 on Ebay! Yikes!! It's like Beanie Babies.. I should have sold! :)

I added a little glossy accents on the pirate patch so you can kind of see the reflection in the photo.

Hope you are having a great week!!

TE APRIL Monthly Calendar Challenge

Thursday, April 12, 2012

Hi there!  Is is seriously Thursday already!?!  I am going to be a happy, happy mom when this month is over, so trust me when I tell you that the X off countdown is on at our house for the end of April.  I'm the PTA president for my three kids' Elementary School and our BIG HUGE Annual Carnival is next week... so my nights have been spent making organizational charts, preparing baskets for silent auctions, ordering prizes and food, figuring out games and activities... and the list goes on.  While I wish there was a magic snap button to push me past next week, I'll rely on my TE Calendar to show me how many days of torture left until I can de-stress again! :)

Today is our TE Monthly Calendar challenge and as always, I use my FRAME YOUR IMAGINATION STAND to share my monthly calendar.  There are lots of fabulous of calendar products available HERE at Taylored Expressions....and we'd love you to play along...Taylor's blog has all the info!

For my April calendar page, I worked with the oh so cute FAITH IN BLOOM set, which is part of the Embracing Grace line at Taylored Expressions.  I started by stamping the flowers in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Buttercream Cardstock and colored it with Copic Markers.  I then cut it out with the scallop Spellbinders die and added a circle behind it for a frame.   I used some ribbon from an old Project Pantry kit and added some BUTTONS, attaching everything with Foam Tape.

Here is a close up and you can also see I added a couple of Multi-color Twinkles for a little splash of shiny! :)

Check out what my talented teammates have done with this month's challenge here:

For release day, I made one more card with the Onesie Twosie set from Nancy McKinney's Whimsical Wishes.   I also added another fancy buckle with the new FANCY BUCKLES die set and I added a SMALL SCALLOP BORDER across the top and cut the little onesie out with the ONESIE die.  The sentiment was put on a GROMMET TAG, which I love to use.

Die to create adorable baby cards and shower decorations. This is the perfect little baby set for
everyone to have in their stamping arsenal with plenty of variety for girls. boys and even twins!

I couldn't resist making a strawberry themed card (we had a slight obsession with Strawberry  Shortcake in my house!)  The papers are all from October Afternoon.  The Onesie Notecard will be perfect to use on it's own or in lots of other ways that I saw the girls using them on their own.  Make sure you check out more ideas with whole Baker's Dozen today!

Today I'm first featuring the newest Apple Doodle Ink set from Doug Applegate... our favorite little penguin is back, this time as a graduate.   I also used a new coordinating die with this set called Reach for the Stars and the papers are all from October Afternoon School House.  I absolutely love the star border and to darken up my penguin a bit, I always go over it with a black marker to add a little depth.

TE April Release - DAY 1 Sneak Peeks

April Release At a Glance
We have sneak peeks to share Monday through Wednesday.  All of the new products will be available for purchase on Thursday, April 5th at 8 am PST. You'll find it all in the Fresh out of the Oven Department at the Taylored Expressions Store.

Today I'm first featuring the new set in the Whimsical Wishes line from Nancy McKinney called Make it Amazing. This is a full set of 19 images/sentiments with butterflies, botanicals, and beautiful sentiments.  We have 3 coordinating dies that go with this set that you can see by jumping around the blogs... and I used two of the die sets on my card.

I used the new Project Pantry Kit for my card called LONDON MARKET... there are some gorgeous patterns and colors in the kit!  I used the Elegant Butterflies dies, Fancy Buckles for the accent at the bow (LOVE LOVE THESE!) and the Frame it Up 3 die.

Next, I made a trio of quick and easy to make cards using the FRUITY FRIENDS set in the Embracing Grace line by Emily Burger.  This set was concepted by our very own Baker's Dozen member, Wanda Guess and it's so cute with the punny sentiments and adorable little fruit faces!  I had to use more than one!

I used papers from the Doodlebug Color Wheel line and the red is from an October Afternoon set that I have to look up, but I loved all the bright colors!   What a fun way to send a sweet note to someone!

Make sure you check out the rest of the design team today!! There's lots and lots to see!!
